Bakery Driver
The Company
Bakeri Baltzersen is a wholesale and retail bakery operation that is part of Baltzersen’s, and is based 7km outside Harrogate at Springfield Farm on the A59 near Menwith Hill. We bake a range of long fermented sourdough loaves, rye, ciabatta and more traditional yeasted white and granary style loaves/rolls. We also bake pastry and vienoisserie from scratch.
The Role
We have a full-time role for a Bakery Driver and Packer.
Your normal shifts runs from Midnight to around 9am and you would work Tuesday to Saturday pattern with Sun/Mon off.
Duties will include:
Packing products for delivery.
Driving and delivering to our partners.
Other duties as required by the bakery manager.
Early Start Early Finish
Baking is a process that happens overnight so we can get bread and pastries to our partners and customers as fresh as they can be. With this brings early starts for you as a driver/packer at Midnight. You need to be the type of person that can be relied upon to get into work - sleeping through your alarm is not an option.
Packing
We have a packing team that arrive before you but you should expect to spend the first 2-3 hours helping to finish picking items and then loading your van ready to depart.
Driving
We have a range of vans all under 3 years old that are a pleasure to drive and most of the deliveries are complete before traffic starts getting busy.
We have delivery routes that head out to Leeds, York and Wakefield.
Transport
The location of the bakery and the times of the shifts mean that you need to have your own transport to get you to and from the bakery. Public transport is not an option.
Pay
The basic rate for this role is £12.22/hr.
We also pay an additional £3.00/hr as an 'Unsocial Hours' top up rate between 11pm and 6am so this will apply for the majority of your shift.
